Some of the Best Education Grants for Military Students Are Here

The brave men and women who choose to join the United States Military give up so much in order to keep citizens safe and serve their country. One thing they shouldn’t have to sacrifice is education. Given that online education is gaining more and more traction, military students can easily apply for one of the online degree programs available and learn from the comfort of their environment.

What’s more, online colleges offer special education grants for military students who want to enroll in higher education to make sure they have a better future once they get off the force. Scholarships are also offered to spouses, children or family members of army men and women who want to apply for offline or online degree programs with accredited universities.

The General Prize Essay Contest

US Naval Institute offers this awards annually a host of bursaries ranging from $2,000 to $6,000. Military students looking to enroll in an offline or online education programs are eligible to submit an essay to win one of the fourth prizes available.

Contestants need to submit a paper on the historic role of naval power in global affairs. The contest is open to all person eligible to become a member of the Institute (or are already members).

So if offline or online colleges run out of funds for education grants, interested parties can always turn to third party institutions like the US Naval Institute and submit an essay.

Scott and Joan Rose Scholarships

You can apply for the Scott and Joan Rose scholarship, applicants need to be high school seniors looking to enroll with an offline or online degree programs in the near future. Applicants need to demonstrate a commitment to the community service and show a strong participation in academic or community groups, organizations.

The Pinellas Education Foundation grants up to $1,000 on an annual basis. Students need to have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher in order to apply for this scholarships. On top of that students of traditional or online colleges need to complete an extensive online application which should include things like student’s academic record, proof of participation in community, service and extracurricular activities.

Military Scholarships Essay Contest

America website, eLearners.com awards a $1,000 grant to students who are looking to pursue one of the offline or online degree programs in the near future.

Students must be a military veteran, active service member, or spouse to a veteran or service member in order to be eligible to apply. eLearners wants to help ex- or current military officers take advantage of the perks of online education by awarding a scholarships to help pay for tuition.

If you fall under the criteria mentioned above, go ahead and access eLearners and complete an online form where you are required to fill some personal information and answer the question “How has you military service better prepared you to enhance your education?” with an 250 word or less essay.

You can submit your answers online until February 28, 2017 so there’s plenty of time to prepare your answer.
