MTN Group is offering scholarships to young Africans applying to MBA or MPhil at the University of Cape Town

Young African leaders are supported and encouraged by MTN Group to dream big and be bold when it comes to pursuing their careers. MTN Group, the multinational mobile telecommunications network company, is awarding a number of scholarships offered at the Solution Space to nurture these young and bold African leaders. Their scholarships are aimed at supporting entrepreneurs and mid-career professionals who have been contributing to local development and for whom a post graduate degree is vital for continuing their journey toward building a sold world.

MTN’s scholarships are available for students subscribing their application for an MBA or MPhil (Master of Philosophy) in Inclusive Innovation at the University of Cape Town Graduate School of Business. The company is encouraging visionary and bold leaders for whom innovation, inquisitiveness, and entrepreneurial drive are the pillars of their personal philosophy having a significant impact in the world. 

Who is eligible to apply for the MTN’s scholarship at the University of Cape Town Graduate School of Business?

First of all and foremost, it is mandatory that all the entrants are citizens of an African country and permanent residents for 1 year at least. Entrants should apply for the Master of Business Administration or Master of Philosophy in Inclusive Education program at the University of Cape Town Graduate School of Business. Only those who have received a letter of confirmation backing up their admission at the university will be considered eligible for the MTN Scholarship. The medium of instruction and examination at UCT is English; hence entrants for whom English is second language will have to pass language tests.

Students need to make proof of the financial need. They are advised to consult the following link http://www.gsb.uct.ac.za/solution-space-scholarships where they will find the documents required for demonstrating financial need.

How students can apply for the MTN Scholarship?

As stated earlier, students cannot apply for the scholarships without applying for one of UCT’s GSB programs. Entrants must submit the MTN scholarship application form that can be completed here http://www.gsb.uct.ac.za/scholarship-apply. The scholarship application form must be submitted together with the UCT application number. The UCT application number will be received for the UCT GSB Admission Office. Additional documents required include a CV and a completed Affidavit which can be found here http://www.gsb.uct.ac.za/solution-space-scholarships.

Entrants will be notified if they were selected for an interview. The final decision and the MTN scholarship award will be made by a Scholarship selection panel and the entrants will be notified by mid-December.

The closing date for the scholarship application is October 31st 2017.
