University of Bradford Global Development Scholarship: Full Tuition Fee and Living Expenses

University of Bradford offers two kinds of scholarships for international students interested in a one-year Master program (except MBA). There are two Global Development Scholarships and five Bestway Scholarship (dedicated to Pakistani students).

The scholarships will cover the whole cost of the tuition, the students will receive accommodation and £4,200 for living expenses. The sum for the living expenses is offered in three payments over the academic year. The costs for transport, visas and eventual English tests the students might need to take will be covered by the students themselves.

Selection criteria include English proficiency, a degree certificate and financial need due to the fact that the students are coming from countries in crises (political, natural, military difficult situations). The list of eligible countries comprises: Afghanistan, Angola, Bangladesh, Burundi, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Colombia, Congo, The Democratic Republic of Congo, Côte d’Ivoire, Dijbouti, Egypt, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Georgia, Guinea, Haiti, Honduras, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Kenya, Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Lesotho, Lebanon, Liberia, Madagascar, Malawi, Maldives, Mauritania, Mozambique, Myanmar, Nepal, Niger, Nigeria, Occupied Palestinian Territory, Pakistan, Russia (North Caucasus), Sierra Leone, Somalia, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Swaziland, Syrian Arab Republic, Tanzania, Timor-Leste, Uganda, Yemen, Zambia, Zimbabwe. Students from other countries than those on the list can apply for the scholarships, but they are required to offer a complex argumentation about the country’s situation and the way it has directly affected their lives.

Candidates must have already completed an undergraduate program. A copy of their degree certificate will be required in the application process.

Students must also prove their English proficiency, preferably a certificate obtained after passing an international English test. Students should have a minimum score of 6 at IELTS (The International English Language Testing Testing System), the preferred language test by the University, a minimum score of 80 at TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) or a minimum score of 55 at PTE (Pearson Test of English). The Bradford University also accepts Cambridge Advanced Certificate and Cambridge Proficiency Certificate, with grade C or above.

The application process will begin on April, 24 and close on May, 15. The application takes place online, and the application form will be available starting on April, 24, at this link. Students whose applications were successful will be announced until June, 30.
