The University of Hamburg is offering grants worth $500 for International students

The University of Hamburg, Germany is offering degree completion grants for international students for whom high learning standards are an engaging challenge. Hamburg University of Applied Sciences is known as one of the most reputable and largest of its kind offering a multitude of programs ranging from Bachelor’s to Master’s degree in IT, engineering, design and media, social sciences, and business. International undergraduate students who are seeking to pursue a degree from the University of Hamburg are welcome to apply for the degree completion grant.

What is a degree completion grant? It is defined as a grant offered to students who did not manage to complete their bachelor’s degree but for whom work and other obligations got in their way. In order to be eligible for this grant, one admission criterion is that their monthly income does not exceed €450.

The maximum amount offered through the grant is €450 per month and it might be authorized for a whole year. The grant is aimed to assist highly motivated students at the University of Hamburg. It is highly important that they have completed their school education outside of Germany or have graduated from a Studienkolleg. What is a Studienkolleg? For those who are not familiar with the concept, Studienkolleg are state-run or private institutions affiliated with universities or universities of applied sciences where international applicants are taught German, the courses being specifically tailored to them.

However, if you are an international student who does not master the German language, you are required to provide evidence of proficiency in English at the level required by the University of Hamburg.

Who are the students who are not eligible for the grant? International students who do not meet the prerequisites of Section 8 of the German Federal Education and Training Assistance Act and doctoral students.

The application periods are processed in rounds based on the following dates, January 1st, April 1st, July 1st, October 1st. For the online application, international students are required to provide the following documents: their CV in tabular form. Along with the CV, a letter of motivation, an evaluation of the final project from their supervisor, and a detailed tabular schedule of the various work steps of their examination are required. The documents should be uploaded using the online application tool.
