Craig and Barbara Barrett Political Science Scholarship

The Liberal Arts and Sciences campus of the Arizona State University offers its scholarship that aims to help undergraduate students of Political Science progress attain academic excellence. The scholarship have been named in honor of Craig R. Barret and Barbara McConnell Barrett, two distinguished late members of the Liberal Arts and Science Campus.

The Arizona State University offers online courses and internet courses as well as on-site training, which is where the university shines. Students who want to pursue a Master’s degree in Political Science and Government may readily apply for the scholarship which offers an undetermined and varying amount of funding depending on students’ present needs and background.

Unlike an online course at the Arizona State University, students must not show any signs of absenteeism during their studies if they want to be eligible for the funding. However, some leeway is granted where enrollment is concerned. Students may opt for a variety of options, including:

  • Full-time enrollment status
  • 3/4 status;
  • 1/2 time
  • Or less than that

The scholarship applies to various academic levels, including incoming transfer or undergraduate students, junior students or senior students.

Internet courses often have their qualification criteria that are nevertheless more lax than actually attending classes on-site at campus. This is why the prerequisites outline by the Liberal Arts and Sciences campus are more stringent.

In order to make the cut, prospective candidates need to own a Political Science major in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. Furthermore, by the semester, they will be required to have completed 60 hours. The prospective applicant’s GPA should be 2.50 or higher. On a more personal note, all applicants should demonstrate strong personal and leadership skills that will set them apart from their peers. Again, the process of awarding the actual scholarship and determining the amount of the scholarship will be based on how much the applicants need to pursue their studies.

All applications should be submitted by 31 January, 2018 in order to be considered for the 2018/2019 academic year.

On a related note, applicants may also want to take a look at the other scholarships readily available at Arizona State University’s website.
