Online degrees are the future of education. Without new skills you can’t advance in life and online education programs are the easy way you can acquire these skills. You’ll still need to devote a whole lot of time to studying and participating in the online classroom, but you will able to do so on your own time and from the comfort of your home. The online university is a breath of fresh air for students with jobs and other commitments.
And while most people believe no funding is ever awarded for students of online degrees, we’re here to tell you this is just misinformation. Actually there are plenty of scholarship programs for students interested in enrolling with online education programs. You don’t have to go looking for funding exactly at the online university you are thinking of applying to. There are other third-party (governmental) institutions that are willing to support your educational endeavors. Here’s a very promising example.
For example, the Government of Brunei is awarding the Darussalam scholarship for the 2017/2018 academic session. The award enables the students who receive the grants to study with an offline or online education degree at one of the following institutions: Universiti Brunei Darussalam, Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali, Universiti Teknologi Brunei or Politeknik Brunei.
Perspective students of traditional or online degrees should consider applying for this grant because it covers tuition fees, an economy class air-ticket to Brunei, a monthly personal allowance of $356, food allowance of $107, book allowance of $428, baggage allowance and accommodation expenses.
It’s one of the more generous scholarship programs out there, so don’t hesitate to apply to it. However, you need to be aware of the eligibility criteria. For starters, students in the OIC member countries including Algeria, Benin, Cameroon, Chad, Libya, Gambia, Mozambique, Nigeria, Sudan or Uganda are invited to apply. Also, applicants need to be nominated by their government.
To be eligible, perspective students of the offline or online university need to be medically fit to undertake the scholarship and travel to Brunei, as the grant requires the beneficiary to live in the country as long as he or she enjoys the benefits of the bursaries.
Applicants must be between 18 to 25 of age and need to be applying for an undergraduate diploma program. Postgraduate entries are also welcomed. To kick start your application progress all you need to do is download the application form and start filling it. After you’ve finished, you need to have it endorsed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or the National Focal Point for Scholarships in your country of origin. Incomplete forms will not be considered, so be careful what you send.
Scholarship programs are the sure way a student can follow his/her dream. But to get it, you will need to pay attention to all the details requested by the institutions granting the scholarship. Don’t skip over steps. Take the time to truly read what is asked of you. After all that institution will be awarding you with a sum of money. So you should their application process seriously!
