Up to one-thousand Ghana Cedis in School Aid Offered by Threads by Dreads
“Threads by Dreads” is a beautiful attempt of promoting Ghanaian culture by the intelligent entrepreneur Christiana Afotey who delivers her work to several countries around the world. “Threads by Dreads” is an ethnic fashion brand that retails high-quality clothing and furniture accessories which are made from authentic Ghanaian fabric all over the world. Christiana has launched in 2016 a scholarship program aimed to promote education in honor of her mother, Mrs. Fedelia Adokailey Mensah, to continue her legacy of community building and re-investment in the lives of future generations.
In the first edition, Christiana has offered 10 qualified scholarships each valued at $250, the equivalent of 1000 cedis. The scholarship scheme still continues and the lucky winners will have the scholar’s tuition fees, feeding, school supplies/ materials and any other educational program that fits the students covered. The amount will be paid directly to the school. An amazing thing about this scholarship is that it awards students annually. In case one misses it, he/she has the chance to submit his/her application the next year.
Who is eligible to apply for the Mrs. Fedelia Adokailey Mensah Scholarship?
First and foremost, the scholarship is available only for Ghanaian residents. Second of all, the participants must be actively enrolled in school and have no more than five occurrences of lateness or unexcused absences. It is highly important that students maintain credit grades A&B throughout the calendar school year. The minimum GPA score admitted is 3.0 or above. As well, participants must have a minimum of 40 hours on volunteer log.
How and where can students submit their application?

The official scholarship application contains questions regarding academic activity and preferences as well as volunteering activities.
Along with the filled scholarship application, students must submit their official transcripts for each semester of the current school year, a recent picture, awards, honorable achievements and/ or letter of recommendations.
