Erasmus Mundus Master’s Scholarships in Environmental Studies

The Erasmus Mundus Joint European Master in Environmental Studies (JEMES) offers a unique 2-year experience of academic training. The program is jointly offered by several institutes such as the Institute of Environmental Technology and Energy Economics and Institute of Wastewater Management and Water Protection and many more.

JEMES provides a unique state-of-the-art technological and management education by 4 leading European Universities: Aalborg University, Denmark, Universitate de Aveiro, Portugal, Hamburg University of Technology, Germany and, Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona, Spain. Each university is inviting students to pursue different academic programs. Aalborg University in Denmark has the management technology program open for applications, Universitat de Autonoma de Barcelona, Spain is welcoming applications for management technology, Hamburg University of Technology, Germany is launching the invitations for program coordinating and engineering technology and Universidade de Aveiro, Portugal is welcoming students passionate about engineering technology. Students do at least the second semester at one of the previously mentioned partner universities enjoying the incredible from a remarkable local expertise. The fourth semester will be dedicated solely to thesis research.

The best thing about JEMES is that it interweaves technological and management education, research-based courses and, of course, intensive practical exercises. Hence, students will have the possibility to enjoy the curricula being provided with a broad and excellent scientific background. JEMES takes in consideration the needs of developing as well as the industrialized countries; which means that a student body of 50% overseas and 50% European students is intended. However, even if overseas students are welcomed to enjoy the 2-year experience of intensive academic training, they must know English very well since language of education is English. Hence, students must have had taken TOEFL with a score of 550 points paper.

As we mentioned previously, the duration of the program is 2 years and applicants who hold an undergraduate degree related to environmental studies will have to submit a personal motivation letter and a recommendation letter. Students will obtain a joint MSc degree in Environmental Studies. Students who wish to enjoy a unique social and learning experience are invited to apply for JEMES. For more details about the application process and eligibility criteria, students can consult the official website here http://www.jemes-cisu.eu/joomla3/

While each university has its own eligibility criteria and closing dates for the program, students are advised to consult the websites of the universities for more details. Even though the program will continue in 2018 and beyond, students are advised to mobilize their resources because gathering all the needed documents might take some time. Good luck!
