Over 300 Graduate Research Scholarships at University of Melbourne

The University of Melbourne was created in 1853. Since then, it has earned a prestigious reputation, being situated constantly in top 50 best universities in the world. The university focuses on encouraging academic excellence and leadership, and recognizes the priority of research and innovation. This is why it is open to international students and graduates, offering a large area of study.

The Graduate Research Scholarship is dedicated to international and domestic (Australian) graduates who wish to attend a master or a doctoral degree at the University of Melbourne.

The applicants must have already applied for a place at the university or be attending a research degree program within the university. The scholarship can consist in one or more benefits, depending on the specific situation of the candidate. Full cover of tuition fee for up to two years for master programs or for up to four years for doctoral programs is one of the benefits offered by this scholarship. Successful applicants can also receive a personal allowance and health insurance. The candidates will be evaluated based on academic performance and research potential. Professional experience is also important.

Deadline for application varies according to the Graduate School the students choose to apply. For instance, deadline application for a post graduate degree at the Faculty of Arts is 31 August for international students. Other scholarships offered to research graduate programs are Fay Marle Scholarship, dedicated to students of Indigenous Australian descent and/ or who are facing difficult material circumstances like illness, poverty, pregnancy or childbirth, political turmoil or natural disasters in their home countries and Frederick Blake Shepherd Scholarship, also available to students in difficult situations, with more inclination towards students with a disability.
