One of the online colleges that understood the importance of offering online degree programs is the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities. Founded in 1851, the university currently holds more than 34,000 students enrolled and has a wide range of 69 fully, primarily and partially online degree programs available for undergraduate and graduate-level students. Unlike many other online universities, this one also offers certificate programs in different fields.

The bachelor degree programs are primarily compartmentalized in two areas of academic study: science and business. Students can enroll in courses that stretch from general management, accounting, entrepreneurship, international business and marketing. If they are more interested in science-related career, then they can pursue a program in applied health, medical laboratory science and information technology management. There are even some options in more specialized fields which include courses of tribal administration and governance, social work and sports and recreation management. All of the bachelor’s degrees consist of 120 credit hours and are designed to be completed in four years of full-time enrollment.

The online master’s programs at UM – Twin Cities are concentrated in science, healthcare and technology, offering their students degrees in health informatics, computer science, healthcare administration, dental hygiene, public health and electrical engineering. The online MBA consists of a total length of 57 credits, with only one exception with the master’s in occupational therapy which runs 78 credits. These are designed to be completed in 12 to 18 months of full-time study.
